KR Multicase FAQs
Accessories
How do the Accessory case lids come off?
The lid is attached by 4 snap over clips to keep all the contents safe. The removable lid is designed for rolling your dice in on the gaming table - no more dice knocking over your figures or rolling on the floor - you use one half and your opponent uses the other!
Do the accessory cases hold tools and brushes?
Yes you can choose between one for tools such as Clippers, Craft Knives/ Scalpel handles, Pin Drill, Spare blades, bits and accessories, or one for 18 brushes and accessories.
How large is the useable surface area of the Tournament trays?
The Standard KR Tournament Tray (KTT01) is 318mm x 235mm, and the Large KR Tournament Tray (KTT02) is 410mm x 310mm.
Do your dice always roll sixes? That would be great if they could!
Sadly not, but you do get a KR on top when you do roll a 6 ! When we try them in the office they almost always get sixes, but we cannot guarantee that they will every time when you have them. Rolling them in a KR Accessory Case will definitely help :-)

Cases
I'm confused about your card case sizes - help!
We have a standard KRM card case which is our base size case. Using this as a starting point, it is easy to understand the others. The KRD (Double) is twice the depth of the KRM; the KRX (Extra) is one and a half times the depth of the KRM; the KRH (Half) is half the width of the KRM (and still the same height); and the KRQ (Quarter) is a quarter of the size of the KRM or indeed half the size of the KRH!)
How do I combine different size card cases in either the Kaiser Transport Bags, or the Backpacks, or the wheeled alumnium cases?
You can easily replace a KRM with two KRH cases, or four KRQ cases in any of the Kaisers, Backpacks or Wheeled aluminium cases.
The KRD and KRX (as they are taller) can be used in the Kaiser2, Kaiser3, Kaiser4, as well as the Backpack4, and of course the wheeled alumnium cases.
I'm concerned that I have incorrectly filled my case. What happens if I place my order and the case has extra room or is overfilled?
Don't worry, we have processes to check that cases and trays are filled correctly. If there are any discrepancies (under or over filled) we'll be in touch with you via email to suggest the best options to get your order out quickly.
Whats the difference between a Backpack21 (BP21) and a Backpack22 (BP22) or a Backpack43 (BP43), and Backpack44 (BP44)?
You can purchase the Backpack2 either with 1 standard case (KRM) or with 2 standard cases (as the BP21 or as the BP22).
Likewise you can purcase the Backpack4 either with 3 standard cases (KRM) or with 4 standard cases (as the BP43 or BP44).
I bought a Backpack, and it doesn't appear to be able to carry as many cases as it should?
Both the BP22 and BP44 have been designed with additional compartments as part of the Backpack, but which can be zipped away when not needed. This means you can have your Backpack as a smaller or a larger size to suit your needs.
Can I mix and match core and custom trays inside of one of your cases?
Absolutely - in fact combining will often provide you with the maximumm carrying capacity for your case.
Does it matter how much the trays cost inside of my case as the price of trays varies?
No need to worry about individual tray prices, the cases are priced including enough trays to completely fill them. You will always find that a case and with trays in is the best value, and of course we do recomend keeping trays in cases as we designed the "soft trays for hard cases" system to maximise the protection for your models.
How does the triple alumnium case, the AL3 hold 3 KRU? I've heard that its not as simple as three KRU high.
The AL3 is designed to carry trays in 2 stacks, each 1 and a half KRU tall, so that it holds 3 KRU worth of trays in total. If you choose 3 KRU of trays, we will always check that they can fit inside. If in any doubt you can certainly email us your army list and we can work out the best trays for your models.
How many trays can the KRX hold?
The KRX can hold 1 and a half KRU worth of trays. This makes it an ideal case for taller models.
How much space does one of your eggshell trays take up?
The eggshell trays are supplied as a pair, and both the Eggshell Standard (ESH) and Eggshell Fine (EFH) trays take up the space of a half depth KR tray allowing for the model space.
There are 2 types available - standard for general use and the unique fine that KR supply to suit maller models and items with more detail.
What does KRU mean?
KRU stands for "KR Unit". We use it as an easy reference for cases. The orginal standard size card case (KRM), formed the basis of the case system when KR Multicase was founded. It has become the benchmark for comparing the case sizes in the KR Multicase case system. A Kaiser2 for example carries 2 standard size card cases, of indeed any variation of card cases that add up to 2 KRU - for example 4 half size cases (KRH) !
Can I fill a case with whatever trays I want?
Yes you can. Use the KR BespokeFill option and simply pick a case, choose your tray type and enter the details in the box. Add you can simply pick a colour for your trays too ! You can use the tools like TrayPrintouts, KR TrayGuides and KR WhatFits to choose your best trays, but don't worry, we will check that is filled correctly before sending it out. We will email you if there are any questions.
How can I pick a case and tray set easily?
Head for the KR QuickFill page. This is designed to make it simple for you to see all the cases on offer, click the "QuickFill" link from the case you want, choose your tray set (from the core options, or the specific army options), add to basket and head to the checkout.

Community
Does KR have a Facebook or Twitter account?
We certainly do, you can find us on Facebook and on Twitter. We post our KR news on both of them as well as the website and the KR newsletter.
Do you guys ever go to shows? I'd love to come and say hi!
We do indeed. KR Multicase attend all of the Wargaming shows in the UK, as well as the larger events on mainland Europe, and several of of the large conventions in the United States. If you want to see shows that we go to (and in fact it is a comprehensive directory of all the Wargaming shows around the world) Check out the KR Show finder page, and if you want to add your local show just drop us an email with all the details and we will put it on there.
We keep an updated calendar of events on our Facebook and on Twitter, we list all of the shows which we're attending there!
Why do you have the KR Community section?
Daryl (he created and runs KR), has often felt that it is hard to find some of the wargaming information on the hobby, and wanted to add a full directory to the new KR website. This grew during development into a much bigger task and now encompasses 5 useful reference sections for Stores, Shows, Clubs, Tournaments and Podcasts, and whilst we do show where KR have an involvement in supporting an event, or a store stocks our products, the directories cover all events, stores, clubs etc whether KR are involved or not. That means you can search freely for information with no limitaions.
If you would like to add to any of the KR Directory entries simply drop us an Email, we will check that we have all the info and get it listed (and post on Facebook/Twitter to help promote it too ! ).
Can I add an update to the KR Shows directory?
Yes certainly. Just drop us an Email with all the details and we will check that we have all the info needed and get it listed (and post on Facebook/Twitter to help promote it too ! ).
Can I add an update to the KR Shops directory?
Yes certainly. Just drop us an Email with all the details and we will check that we have all the info needed and get it listed (and post on Facebook/Twitter to help promote it too ! ).
Can I add an update to the KR Podcasts directory?
Yes certainly. Just drop us an Email with all the details and we will check that we have all the info needed and get it listed (and post on Facebook/Twitter to help promote it too ! ).
Can I add an update to the KR Tournaments directory?
Yes certainly. Just drop us an Email with all the details and we will check that we have all the info needed and get it listed (and post on Facebook/Twitter to help promote it too ! ).
Can I add an update to the KR Clubs directory?
Yes certainly. Just drop us an Email with all the details and we will check that we have all the info needed and get it listed (and post on Facebook/Twitter to help promote it too ! ).
I'm organising an event, and have seen that you support tournaments and conventions - how can I get in touch with you about organising support for my event?
Drop us an email at Email, with the details of your event - including the name of the event, the game system(s) that it is for, the date, how many people you expect to be attending, any links, plus any other information you may think would be useful and we'll be in touch with a day. We can help promote your event via our Facebook and Twitter, plus our website news and Newsletter too.
Are you guys all gamers? What systems do you play?
Most of us are, and 90% are vary happy makers and painters of models too! The games which we play in our spare time varies massively, from Historical gaming, through to the more contemporary systems such as Warmachine and the GW games, and even the occasional card and board game too.
I've noticed that you have a section for new Kickstarters. There is one which I don't see listed, can I let you know about it?
By all means. We do our best to keep an eye on new Kickstarter projects that look exciting, but occasionally one slips through the net. Drop us an email to Email with the name of the Kickstarter and we'll have a look at it.
I'm interested in working for you - how can I get in touch?
We're always looking for enthusiastic, friendly and resourceful people that can add to our team. Drop us your CV at Email.
Dispatch
How long will it take to dispatch my order?
Orders placed before 2PM are dispatched the same day, and orders placed after 2PM are dispatched next working day. The checkout will show you the dispatch date along with an estimated delivery date based on your selected shipping method. This will all be confirmed in your order confirmation email whcih is sent once your order is placed.
The dispatch date or esitmated delivery date seems wrong
Bear in mind that the dates are based on your order contents. For example an order with specially selected red trays will be manufactured just for you as the trays are not a standard stock item.
My order has not arrived by the estimated delivery date.
The estimated delivery date on your order is based on your chosen shipping method. We dispatch on the date planned, but the Mail Service or Courier is in control once it leaves KR. We can certainly help chase and check on progress for you.
If your order hasn't arrived when expected, then it is always worth checking first with your local post office. Most of the orders which we send are quite large (and heavy!), which means that occasionally the postman is unable to deliver them. If you selected UPS then you will be able to track your delivery progress on the KR Tracking page using your order number and email address (or if you are logged into your KR account then you can click directly to it from your order) and that will give you accurate details of your order progress.
Royal Mail 1st Class is not a tracked service and usually takes 2-3 working days, and 2nd Class, which is also not a tracked service takes between 3-5 working days. Airmail, also not tracked, is a little longer at 5-21 working days, depending upon how far away from our UK you are (and the time of year - Christmas postal volumes can slow things down !). If you're still concerned, or the order time is longer than this, email us and we will help get it to you. Also bear in mind the current Covid-19 situation is often affecting regional post offices when lockdowns or partial lockdowns are in effect.
I'd like to make an amendment to my order. How can I do this?
Drop us an email, and we'll be happy to help, provided of course, that we haven't already dispatched your order!
I accidentally selected the wrong tray / made a mistake with my address - help!
Drop us an email, and we'll be happy to help, provided of course, that we haven't already dispatched your order!
I live nearby to your UK Factory - can I come and collect my order?
KR are set up for manufacturing, but not as retail outlets, so currently personal collection is not possible. The shipping costs are free for over 95% of orders, and we do dispatch the same working day so that all customers get their orders quickly (if you order before 2PM).
Events
Can I preorder for a show which you are attending, and collect at the show? How long will I need to let you know in advance?
Yes you can - in fact, many people do. You can pre-order by phone or Email, and to make life even easier the checkout does in fact have a KR Click&Collect option where you can choose which show you want to collect at. You can even decide whether to pay in advance on line or to pay on the day when you collect! We accept cards and cash at all shows.
As we pack and travel to a show a day or two in advance, the website will indicate if you have enough time to put in your order for regular or colour trays to pick up at the show.

Our full size trays are 380mm x 255mm and the half size trays are 255mm x 190mm. The trays are available in 6 depths (full, 3/4, 2/3, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 and 1/5 of a standard KR case). Each tray compartment has its compartment depth listed in the description on our website. We always work on the compartment depth (rather than the overall tray height with its base), as the compartment depth is much more useful for deciding if a model will fit into the tray.
Pricing, Currencies and Import Taxes
Why are only five currencies available to pay with by using the website?
The website is configured for the most common currencies that are used by our customers, which are easily converted when using a different currency.
How do you determine the exchange rates for currencies?
We use an amalgamated tracker across various banking and exchange sources to keep a well based average for the currency exchange rates. This ensures a price that is reflective of the actual exchange rates from the base UK currency (£) to your countries currency.
What about import duties?
If you live outside the UK then you should check the policy of your government regarding import duties. KR Cases ship duty free outside of the UK and EU, which means that any duties and import charges for importing the products are the customers responsibility. The stated value of goods reflects the purchase price less any shipping costs. If you live in South America it can help speed a packages progress through customs if you provide a tax number. Orders which are returned due to local import charges not being paid will be refunded (minus the original postage charge plus any additional return postage charges).
What about Canada HST import duties?
If you live in Canada, KR Multicase have an arrangement with the importers that the HST duties will be paid on arrival at the customs centre. This means that your order is not delayed at the border, and it also means that you are not required to pay any extra duties to get KR products to your door if you live in Canada.
Is it always cheaper to buy trays in a case than the individual trays?
With the KR Multicase system you always get the best value by combining trays and cases in one purchase. It has been the KR philosopy since the start that the trays and cases function together to form the most durable protection system for your models. The concept of soft foam inside of hard cases is unique to KR, and gives you the safest system for protecting your models with foam that cushions your models perfectly and then is protected itself by a hard case.
Can I pay for my items on your website by using an American Express or Discover card?
Absolutely. We accept all Credit Cards including American Express and Discover. When you get to the checkout, the option will be there to allow you to make your purchases using your card as normal. We also accept these at all the shows that KR attend too !
Returns
What is your return policy?
Naturally we abide by the distance selling regulations. These can be found under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm.In summary the main points are: If you are not happy with the item you have purchased please email us to see if we can resolve the issue. Please inform us by email within 14 days of receipt that you do not want the item and wish to return it. If we are unable to resolve the problem to your satisfaction, please return the item in the same condition as sent (i.e. not used or damaged), securely packaged in its original packaging to the address on your invoice and we will refund the cost of the item (excluding any postage costs).
If KR Multicase is at fault, e.g. an incorrect item has been sent, the return delivery will be refunded, and the correct item will be sent. Please inform us by email as soon as you are aware that you have received an incorrect item. Goods must be returned in the condition they were sent (i.e. not used or damaged).
Shipping
My order has arrived, and there is a problem with it.
Drop us an email or call us with details of the issue (adding images can often help) and we will get it resolved for you.
What options are available for shipping?
You can choose from many options at the checkout. Royal Mail (1st Class, 2nd Class and Airmail), or USPS and if you want a tracked service then choose UPS. The checkout contains all the options for your order and you can upgrade for next day and weekend deliveries too.
Can you deliver to PO Boxes?
Shipping non tracked packages to a PO Box is no issue (ie using regular postal non-signed for services), though for courier shipments (UPS) we do need an address where the package can be signed for (PO Boxes do not have anyone to sign for the package). Don't worry though, we do check when processing orders and will get in touch with you promptly if there is an issue with your delivery address.
Where do KR ship from?
We ship direct from our factory in the UK.
What are your Christmas shipping dates?
Each year the dates for shipping in time for Christmas vary. We always update the KR homepage, Facebook, and Twitter with the dates for all locations around the world so that you can get your presents under the tree in time for the big day.
Stocking KR in a Store
I own a gaming store, and I'm interested in stocking your products. How can I go about this?
We're always pleased to hear from new companies looking at stocking our products. Drop us an email and we'll provide you with price lists and wholesale account details.
Trays
What are the dimensions of your trays?
Our full size trays are 380mm x 255mm and the half size trays are 255mm x 190mm. The trays are available in 6 depths (full, 3/4, 2/3, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 and 1/5 of a standard KR case). Each tray compartment has its compartment depth listed in the description on our website. We always work on the compartment depth (rather than the overall tray height with its base), as the compartment depth is much more useful for deciding if a model will fit into the tray.
What are the core trays?
The core trays are the trays from the F, N, M, P, Q, R, V, D and J format ranges. Each of these trays is available in 10mm, 23mm, 32mm, 51mm, 70mm and 110mm compartment depths, and as either full or half width trays.
What are the custom trays?
The custom trays are all specifically designed to suit particular models. The compartments, and even the compartment depths can vary within a tray to get the perfect support and protection for your model. Custom trays are available with 23mm, 32mm, 51mm, 70mm, 80mm and 110mm compartment depths, and as either full or half width trays. They are also available as oversize trays to suit the Prestige case range for models like the Thunderhawk and Tau Manta!
What are the differences between your Pick&Pluck formats?
The KR unique segmented pick&pluck design allows you to maximise your carrying capacity without compromising on model protection. Each KR segmented Pick&Pluck tray has sections and dividing walls. This is planned so that any model size is efficiently carried. The V format is exceptionally good for small based models (30mm), and larger models as the 30mm blocks and wall lend themselves to many variations. This tray is great for 60 and 65mm bases too.
The D format, with its 40mm blocks is designed for 40mm based models. You can remove sections for models that fit within the base, and easily remove extra blocks for models with dynamic poses.
The J format has 50mm spacing and is perfect for 50mm bases. Again you can simply remove extra blocks for models with dynamic poses.
You can see all the formats on the TrayPrintouts page. We created that so that you can literally "try before you buy". Simply print out the pdf (make sure to have the scale set to 100%), and you can try your model over the printout to plan your most efficient space usage.
Can I print out trays to compare my models to them?
You can see all the formats on the TrayPrintouts page. We created that so that you can literally "try before you buy". Simply print out the pdf (make sure to have the scale set to 100%), and you can try your model over the printout to plan your most efficient space usage.
What are TrayGuides
The KR TrayGuides are a useful way of viewing and printing the trays and sets for your specific army. You can use this as a ready reference to plan your best tray choices. The page is helpfully split into the different systems and armies so that you can easily navigate to your army and its KR TrayGuide.
What does the "What Fits" section do for me?
The KR WhatFits page is a full alphabetical list of all the armies that KR makes trays for ! Yes it is a big list - so we made it easiliy accessible by having clickable alphabetical links to get you to your amy quickly. This is a very useful way of getting to see trays for your army and looking at their details before choosing the best one.
How can I tell how deep a tray is?
Each tray has its compartment depth listed in the desciption on our website. We always work on the compartment depth (rather than the overall tray height with its base), as the compartment depth is much more useful for deciding if a model will fit into the tray.
What is a constructed tray?
KR leads the way in custom tray design for specific models. We have dedicated designers who create the best for each model. KR created the unique constructed trays in response to large and more delicate models. These trays have additional support built into the compartments to hold a model in its strongest places - and have extra free space created around the more vulnerable areas.
Are your trays available in any colours other than blue?
Yes they are, and the available colours are shown along with the tray or tray set in the online shop. Just click on the colour button to change your colour. In the Bespoke Case Fill section you can change the colour of the trays you select at the click of a button. And even the basket gives you the opportunity to change the colour of your trays before payment. In addition, the detail page for each tray gives you the option to view the tray in all of its available colours.
Do colour orders take longer to be shipped?
The majority of colour tray orders are shipped with 1 working day. If a particular tray in the colour you order is not immediately available we will manufacture that to order which will take around 3-7 working days. We tell you your latest dispatch date for a colour order at the checkout, though most orders are shipped well before that date.
Are all of your trays interchangable between cases?
Yes they certainly are. KR pioneered the truly modular tray and case design. The concept is simply to have the half size and full size trays available in varying depths, which are all interchangable, providing you with an extremely robust modular system for swapping trays between cases.
Are you going to produce custom trays for my model? I have a great suggestion.
We are always working to develop new trays for our customers We have a schedule for designing and releasing new trays and they are regularly added to our range. If you have a model in mind, then drop us an email and we will be able to tell you where it is on the schedule, or indeed get it planned in!
I've looked and I can't see any trays for the gaming system / army I play - can you help me to chose the right trays?
Of course! Our staff have over 150 years of gaming experience between them, either playing and enjoying games or within the industry itself. Chances are we'll know your game, and if we don't then if you can provide us with pictures/dimensions or links, then we'll be happy to help you get the best protection for your models.
Do any of your trays fit into the Accessory Case?
The KR Accessory Case is in fact the same size as a KR 1/3 depth half tray as it can sit inside your case in place of a 1/3 depth tray. The accessory case is designed for rolling your dice in, and to hold accessories. Great to have when playing a game, you can keep one half for you to roll dice in and give the other half to your opponent to roll his dice in!
I cannot find a tray for my model.
If you have a model but can't fine a tray for it, then drop us an email and we will be able to tell you if we have a custom tray for it or which existing tray to use. If you want us to make a custom tray for your model then let us know and we can add it to our schedule.
